Thanks to Nikon's (now LK Metrology) custom-designed, top-quality optical system, this cost-effective scanner is capable of capturing the smallest details with high precision while maintaining speed and data quality. The device optimizes laser settings in real time to suit the material type and surface reflectivity, without the need for surface preparation.
The LC15DX laser scanner from LK Metrology extends the capabilities of traditional CMMs by enabling the complete geometry of a component or assembly to be captured automatically and non-contact, delivering valuable insights into the manufacturing process.
Closing the gap with tactile probe accuracy – The LC15DX is a viable alternative to a tactile probe in CMM applications that demand high precision. The smallest part features can be scanned with industry-leading accuracy. Thanks to solid-state laser technology and an advanced calibration method, the LC15Dx is narrowing the gap between laser scanning and tactile probing, achieving micron-level precision. Unlike a tactile probe, however, the device uses non-contact 3D laser triangulation to measure surfaces directly, eliminating probe compensation errors. Full thermal compensation ensures maximum accuracy is achieved as soon as the scanner is powered on.
Scanning glossy or multi-material surfaces – Nikon’s proprietary Enhanced Sensor Performance (ESP3) technology maintains accuracy, speed, and data quality by intelligently adapting laser settings for each measured point in real time. A wide range of materials, finishes, colors, and surface transitions can be measured more efficiently without manual intervention, adjustment, or surface spraying. Unwanted reflections from glossy surfaces are neutralized by an advanced software filter, while variations in ambient lighting are managed by a high-grade daylight filter. For the most challenging parts or materials, manual laser adjustments are also available if needed.
