Technical Description

The entire measurement process is performed via a push button.

After pressing the Start button, the measuring head moves down and contacts the sample surface, clamps the sample, loads the force (pre-selected), creates an indentation and releases the sample. After a few seconds, the result is available (for Rockwell method). For Vicker and Knoop methods, the indentation is created, the camera moves to the measuring position and reads the result.

Test tip and sample holder

During the test of a deformed or sagging sample, the system moves the probe along the sample and maintains contact with the sample. 

The test tip is protected in the clamp and can move within 50mm for quick and easy measurements on a variety of test specimens with different thicknesses without moving the measuring head and the sample lifting screw.

CLOSED LOOP SYSTEM (PAT. AFFRI)

The load force is applied in a cycle through Load Cells and is electronically controlled in a "Closed Loop" with a 1KHz oscillation frequency, ensuring perfect linearity over the entire force range. The results are not affected by vibration, operator error, orientation, or other complications as with machines using "Dead Weight" Static Load systems or other types of gauges. 

High repeatability and reproducibility

Accurate measurements the first time even under difficult conditions, no need to repeat measurements. R&R data is at the top of this class of devices.

Automatic dent measurement

With the high definition camera and AFFRI software, the indentation reading is automated and ensures accuracy even on imperfect surfaces. From standard polished to rough or etched samples, indentation is automatically detected and measurements are possible on any sample surface.

Automatic clamping system (PAT. AFFRI)

Always maintain contact with the sample, even under unstable, shifting sample conditions during the test operation.

The stable and sturdy sample clamping system helps the testing process not to be affected much by inappropriate factors.

Horizontal and vertical moving work table (X/Y TABLE)

Worktable (100x100mm) with 25x25mm displacement range and displacement unit every 10 μm each time, easy and accurate movement to the required measurement position on the sample.

Software

With AFFRI software, selecting the appropriate scale and setting up the test program has never been easier and faster. Results are displayed quickly and directly according to technical parameters. There is a data memory to store test results.
